The Coaching Edge: How Coaches and Consultants Use the reMarkable Paper Pure to Serve Clients Better

What gets in the way of great coaching
Good coaching and consulting comes down to presence and preparation. You need to have done the thinking before you walk into a session, and you need to be fully there when you're in it. Both of those get harder when your preparation tool is the same device that delivers notifications, email, and social feeds in real time.
You sit down to prep a client session and thirty minutes later you've answered three emails, scrolled once through LinkedIn, and run a quick check on something you were "just going to look up." The prep happened but not the way it was supposed to.
The Paper Pure changes that by being nothing but a thinking and writing surface. You open it, you prep the session, you close it. No diversions. The prep is actually prep.
Session preparation that holds
Before a client session, there are specific things worth writing out. Not typing, writing. The physical act of putting the session prep on paper changes how you show up for it.
Pre-session prep format
Where we left off: The key thread from the last session. The commitment the client made. What they said they'd work on.
What I want to hold: One or two things you noticed about this client that deserve attention. A pattern, an obstacle, a belief that seems to keep coming up.
My focus question: The one question you most want to explore in this session. Write it before you start. It focuses the session even when the conversation goes sideways.
Potential blocks: What might make this session harder? Low energy from the client, a difficult topic on the table, something unresolved from last time.
This takes 10 minutes. It produces a session that feels prepared, not improvised. Clients feel the difference even when they can't name it.
Building frameworks on paper
Every coach or consultant eventually develops frameworks and models that define their approach. The process of building them matters as much as the output. Frameworks developed by hand tend to be cleaner and more honest than frameworks built in slides.
When you're drawing a framework in Keynote or PowerPoint, you're thinking about how it looks at the same time you're thinking about whether it's true. The visual constraints of a slide template shape the thinking in ways you don't always notice.
Draw it on the Paper Pure first. No formatting pressure, no aesthetic decisions. Just: does this model actually work? Are these the right categories? Does the flow make sense? Get that right before you make it pretty.
Client notes that build over time
The value of good client notes compounds. A single session's notes aren't that useful. A year's worth of notes from a consistent engagement show you things you'd never see in a single conversation: patterns, progress, recurring themes, unresolved questions.
The Paper Pure organizes notes by notebook. One notebook per client or engagement. Everything stays in one place, searchable, organized by date. When you're preparing for a quarterly review with a long-term client, you can scroll through the history and pull the thread that's worth pulling.
With the Connect subscription, notes convert to text and sync to your file storage of choice. The handwritten version stays on the device. The text version goes where you need it: shared drives, client files, email follow-ups.
Running the business of coaching
Most coaches and consultants are also running a small business. Client pipeline, program development, marketing, pricing, invoicing, partnerships. The K2S Business tier is built for this side of the work.
Keep the K2S Business tier for the operational side: project plans for new programs, client pipeline tracking, launch planning for new offers. Keep the Professional tier for your own development: what you're working on as a coach, what certifications or training you're pursuing, how you're tracking against your own goals.
Both tiers sit on the same Paper Pure. One device, two contexts, no confusion about which notes belong where.
